Our experience was unfortunately very concerning. During her time working with our family, we experienced situations that caused us to question the consistency of the information and documentation provided. She told us she was 30 years old, while a different age was listed on her Sitly profile. We also noticed inconsistencies in the names appearing on different certificates, and no identification was ever provided to us. We received unsolicited messages from individual raising concerns about financial matters and claims that our family would be responsible for outstanding payments. We also had concerns regarding frequent changes in countries of residence. As a new mother, being repeatedly made to feel forgetful when raising concerns was particularly upsetting. I strongly encourage other families to take their time, verify identification, references and credentials, and do their due diligence before hiring.

Eiram has been an absolutely wonderful person, and I feel truly blessed to have had her support. There is no standard hourly rate for childcare services. Rather, each nanny or babysitter’s rate is determined by several factors – including their age and level of experience, the number of kids who need looking after, and how far they need to travel for the job.

In order to come up with an appropriate rate, you should first take into account the minimum wage for your area. Then, you might consider offering a higher rate of pay to keep things fair if you’re asking for any help with things like tutoring or chores around the house - or if you know your kids can be a handful for even the most patient of sitters!
